When I think of the reason this blog exists, I think of one word: exegesis.
The first time I heard the word, it was (appropriately) at a church leader's conference in Dallas. As a volunteer at my small church community, hearing and understanding the word gave texture and value to tasks that people barely noticed. Exegesis made expressing the understanding of your faith like art. An act of exegesis isn't just words used to praise God or the ministry of helps; the word means that your efforts are necessary to make the movement run.
While what people express on the Internet sometimes barely rises to the level of a conversation, much more exegesis, I have had the privilege and honor to consume some of the best writing and entertainment out there. The kind of videos and blogs and podcasts and random posts that move the heart and require response.
That is what inspires Paradise Airways. There may not be real planes, but we're going on a journey.
After several failed attempts at setting up different forms of social expression, I've finally decided to open a proper blog.
In general, I want this to be my exegesis at all levels. Isn't that what the Internet is supposed to be? It's my turn to share thoughts and ideas in a manner that evokes response - even if it's just to say thank you to the others who inspire me.
Thanks to those who write, post, and record to inspire. If I can do a fraction of the same, I will have accomplished my goal.
More to come. Until then, welcome aboard.
